Taking children on a boat in the Argentario works, and with a little care it becomes the day they remember most from the holiday. The secret is simple: a calm pace, short hops between stops, and a few things to play with on board. Here's how we plan a trip with the family.
A pace and route built for them
With children you don't need to go far. We stay along the Argentario coast, with short hops between one stop and the next, so nobody gets bored and nobody gets tired. We pick sheltered coves, with shallow, still water near the shore, where the little ones are relaxed and so are the parents.
If the sea is rough we change route: with children on board, a calm day is worth more than the destination.
Things to play with on board
On board there are SUP, floats and snorkelling masks. For kids the SUP is often the most fun, or simply jumping in and climbing back up the ladder a hundred times. The boat becomes a platform to jump from, and the day passes from one swim to the next.
On board with us: the boat is wide and stable, with shade under the T-top for the middle of the day. Tell us the children's ages and we adapt route, stops and length. For the youngest we keep the trip short; with older kids we can go as far as Giglio. Message us on WhatsApp for a family day.
Safety and comfort
The deck is spacious with no awkward edges, the ladder makes getting in and out of the water easy, and there's always shade under the T-top. Bring hats, sunscreen and a sweater for the way back; towels, water and snacks are on board. In the hottest hours we stop where the water is shallow and sheltered.
